How could this happen? How can it be avoided? I'll skip the lengty tekst answering question one, you'll get Bounty Bay Coin a headache.
So here is what you can do: You attack the monster roaming around at the far end of shooting range by using the flowering technique.
Place a skilled shot at the ground in front of the monsters feet. The bow will not fire but the software will register the direction and that you want to use skilled shot.
Quickly aim and shoot the monster using single shot. This is the trick; the FIRST arrow will be skilled. As a consekvense the monster will register that it is being attacked but not from which position.
The second arrow (and the flowering) will be single shot, thus updating the monster as to where you are located. The monster will now close the distance while taking single shot damage.
Change to skilled shot and kill the poor thing. You may also run for your life, you'll not get "out of control".
The method is not foolproof; I noticed two circumstances where it will fail. The first skilled arrow is a miss.
A monster leavening your screen taking single shoot arrows will "forget" your initial skilled arrow.
